"I don't want a lot for Christmas There's just one thing I need I don't care about presents Underneath the Christmas tree I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true... All I want for Christmas Is you... I don't want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need I don't care about presents Underneath the Christmas tree I don't need to hang my stocking There upon the fireplace Santa Claus won't make me happy With a toy on Christmas day I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you... You baby I won't ask for much this Christmas I won't even wish for snow I'm just gonna keep on waiting Underneath the mistletoe I won't make a list and send it To the North Pole for Saint Nick I won't even stay awake to Hear those magic reindeer click 'Cause I just want you here tonight Holding on to me so tight What more can I do Baby all I want for Christmas is you You... All the lights are shining So brightly everywhere And the sound of children's Laughter fills the air And everyone is singing I hear those sleigh bells ringing Santa won't you bring me the one I really need Won't you please bring my baby to me Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas This is all I'm asking for I just want to see baby Standing right outside my door Oh I just want him for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true Baby all I want for Christmas is You All I want for Christmas is you baby"
It's snowing outside like you would not believe. Will try to post pictures later.
Because of the bad weather, had to cancel all my plans for today. BIG drag.
Fighting a cold/flu. Knew it would catch up to me eventually. Have had so many people in the ER with vomiting and diarrhea. I feel like I have glass in my throat. DD came home sick yesterday from school. Nausea, fatigue, pale.
Worked on Christmas cards yesterday. I guess since I'm stuck in the house now I might as well try to finish them off today.
Did I mention how annoyed I am that the it decided to dump snow today? It couldn't have waited until tomorrow?

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love you's" More "I'm sorry's." But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it ... live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!!
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with , and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you have a blessed day.

Hoping to get my Christmas cards done this set of days off. No letter this year. What can I say? "Dear friends, it's been the worst year of my life"?
Need to do a big Superstore shop and find a new Christmas tree. Whether I like it or not, Christmas IS coming. Might work over the holidays for a friend so she can spend holidays with her small children and family. Better than being alone. So alone.
Meeting up with some girlfriends on Friday for lunch and that will be nice. Long time since I've seen this group.
The rain persists. I need Croc boots.

Come home and am happily greeted by the dog and cat. The dog is so excited to see me; we go for a quick brisk walk and he's happy to run and have his mom home. Now we'll cuddle up on the bed. Good company.

We shopped at the mall, and actually didn't have much luck there. The stores just don't seem appealing. Most of them we have here in Canada. We spent some time in Target and I did pick up some of the "Choxie" for Christmas. I debated over some new holiday dinner wear but in the end, walked away.
Bath and Body works is so yummy. I got Hot Chocolate bubble bath/shampoo/body wash!!!! It smells soooo good!
Joanns. Had a 50% coupon for one regular priced item. They are smart. Everything is on sale. Well, I was excited to find that all their CK products were 40% off. Got a great Christmas album kit, some cardmaking kits, some really fun Heidi Swapp stuff that was so cheap and a box of DCWV Christmas card on for 50% off. Bought a large Gerbra daisy with my coupon. Like I need another floral stamp.
At Paper Zone I found BH's new Creative Companion. Can't wait to dive into that. And some Poinstettia flowers and matching jewel brads, by a new company Imaginesce??
Back to the mall to Kohls where they were having a huge sale. Tons of stuff on 50%. Did quite a bit of Christmas shopping there. Enough said.
Saved the best for last. TOM. TOM :-) That store is a delight. Found the Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps, by Rhonna Farrer. I got a doodle set. Some rollar stamps by 7 Gypsies and Heidi Swapp, Book of Me, BH's Family History book, and................. sparkly Razzle Dazzle Bazzill!!!
Had a nice lunch at Olive Garden. Love that restaurant.
It was a really great day!

Today had an appt in the city and then went to visit my girlfriend who just bought her first home; a very nice townhouse. Has an awesome great room that is welcoming and cozy. She's having the staff Christmas party this year and I am looking forward to that. We had a nice visit and then I went shopping at Safeway. Love that I can have a Starbucks (inside the store) while I shop for groceries. Nice to go there for a change of pace. Home now to do chores. Changed the sheets. Love fresh sheets. So does the cat, will post a funny pic later on. DD has a friend over and we had Panago. Beautiful nice girl. Trying to talk them into a mini photo shoot so I can scrapbook her; she lives in another community so don't see her very often. Sadly her little brother passed away last week from cancer. Heartbreaking.
Tomorrow tomorrow. What to do. Thinking scrapbooking and chores. Wednesday I'm heading to the city to visit my g/f with the twin girls. Looking forward to that. Babies smell so good.
Weather is miserable. Rain isn't going away. Not fun to walk the dog. He's been acting strange the past week. Involuntary of stool. Like he can't hold it in. And acting more lethargic. Like when he would see DH and then go downhill after a visit. Have doubled up his medication to help keep the breakthrough seizures at bad. He's a highly stressed anxious boy. Past few months sure have aged him.

I have had many favorite TV series over the years. Charlie's Angels. Knott's Landing. ER. NYPD Blues. Alias. And now, I'm watching CSI Las Vegas on DVD. Somehow started watching reruns on tv and got hooked; a girlfriend of mine just so happens to have all the seasons on DVD. It's been nice to have something to look forward to, especially on lonely nights.

Slept better last night and that makes such a difference. Having a pedicure this morning which is much needed; heels are starting to bleed. And this afternoon, I plan on scrapbooking some more.
Here's a quote from the Photo Express blog:

can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do." Helen Keller
I may be down, but I am not out.

Have had a busy few days. Worked two extra four shifts, one after my nightshift that ended on Friday and one yesterday. The ER is a gong show. Non stop. The floor right now, isn't bad. Amazing how one day we can be up to 16 patients, the next, six. Working the long week-end, not looking forward to that. People travelling with the weather like this, makes for a busy ER.
Went shopping on the week-end with my girlfriends. It was good. I didn't have a list or expect to get anything accomplished, except bonding with the girls. We had a nice time at lunch and good chats. All the stores have their Christmas decorations up. Crazy. My heart is just not into Christmas this year. Been looking out for a new tree and decorations. Out with the old, in with the new.
Not sleeping well again. Nightmares. Vivid ones. And then with the bad weather, a cruel prank played on me and the stupid immature hang up phonecalls, just makes it worse. I am staying in my pj's all day today. I refuse to get dressed and go out. Who wants to with this weather? And I'm just exhausted.
Spent the past few hours doing various types of paperwork. Now I'm going to make something to eat and then I'm going into my scrapbooking room to play. A long time coming.

Work was busy yesterday and I just felt like I could never catch up and do all that I wanted to do for my patients. So many palliatives. They often require more care and time from me than my acute patients with MI's and such. Hope the nights are better.
Am very excited about this week-end. The chicks are going shopping. It will be such an adventure. Needing some chick bonding with lots of laughter and shopping mixed in.
My poor baby had another seizure the other night. So stressed with the firecrackers. Last night he hid in my closet for a good three hours and then finally came and slept on the bed with me all night. He's much calmer today. I think we've got a good routine going and that helps with his stress and anxiety.
Plan to do yardwork this week-end. Winterize. Talked to a few people about what should be done to the front and back yard to make the house more sell-able. Everything costs $$$.
