Pappa

Six months have gone by but it feels just like it was today. I miss you so much Pappa. I have some many questions and worry too much was left unsaid. You are always on my mind, and in my heart.

The Wedding cupcakes

Posted by Picasa

this is the REAL wedding cupcakes. the picture below was just to represent the wedding

  • the wedding was amazing. my girlfriend was absolutely radiant and stunning and her groom handsome.
  • the ceremony did not go off without a hitch, but basically, the bride got to make her entrance twice and was beautiful both times!
  • the hall looked so fabulous, so light and elegant, tiffany blue and white everywhere
  • sat with a table of very lovely ladies
  • the sister of the bride spoke from the heart and gave a wonderful toast to her sister. my friend loves her sister so much, it was so nice and perfect to see the love between the two of them
  • my date/room mate did a lot of work and then pulls off being all gorgeous. she did my hair and makeup and I even felt somewhat girly
  • OMG, the "pops" that were for each guest were TO DIE FOR, as my friend S would say
  • I even danced, which really is unheard of
  • there was a lot of love in that hall that night; from start to finish, not without a few bumps, but one does need to have some "stories" to tell
  • I am so happy for B & J and wish them a lifetime of love, health and happiness
“Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.” —Golda Meir (1898-1978); 4th Prime Minister of Israel

Rest in Peace

Rest In Peace Farrah Fawcett. I loved you as a child in Charlies' Angel, even wanting to change my name to Farrah! I still have my Farrah "Jill" barbie doll.

  • I don't know how it happened, but I bought, and literally inhaled, Twilight and New Moon. Resisted for so long and can't believe I am that interested in a teen series. Books so far, fabulous. Movie, for me, not so much. I'm so impatient that I did a spoiler search, just to see how the whole tale ends....
  • Finally took my dress for the wedding in to be altered. Oy. Nothing like leaving til the last minute. STILL do not have shoes. Apparently the bride does not feel it appropriate for me to be barefooted.
  • Paid a BUNCH of bills. Feeling the pinch now. Really feeling it. Picked up a shift here in the ER and guess I need to start doing weekly OT. ugh.
  • cleaning up and sorting stacks and stacks of paperwork. something I've avoided for months. the shredder is getting a good workout. Pappa would be so disappointed.
  • by tonight, I will have done 8 loads of laundry!
  • Had a lovely visit, far too short with my Fab five. Oh it has been so long. Wish we could somehow make it back to the monthly visits we used to have.
  • got my truck appt, hair appt, mani/pedi appts all booked for next Thursday. Friday is decorating day.
  • made one card while on this set, and have a layout in progress. Found the yearly pictures from school, all 5x7 pictures, that I would like to do pages with for my daughter's school album.
  • looking forward to working in the ER tomorrow as an extra shift.

the most important thing that i have learned about myself as a person, an artist, a mom, a wife, etc.. is that we cannot grow if we do not take chances. the tiny leaps of faith that we take everytime we stretch ourselves past our comfort zones helps to shape the person we evolve into. sometimes we make mistakes, but often times those mistakes lead us to great personal successes. what we can learn from just making the time to try is unquestionably invaluable. Donna Downey

I used to love having bubble baths. A few years ago, I thought I got the tub of my dreams. Turned out to be a nightmare that I can't quite wake up from. But this tub..... could make me dream again....

“Goals. There's not telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There's no telling what you can do when you believe in them. There's no telling what will happen when you act upon them.” —Jim Rohn
Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinion drowned out your own inner voice. Most imporant, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

this is for rocketgirl and mcbabyc, my devoted readers!

  • I worked five shifts last week. I was a challenge. But as a friend told me, you just have to push through it. The consequence, I have spend all my days off resting, reading, napping and getting a pedicure. But hopefully tomorrow I can spend the day with my beautiful daughter.
  • Last Sunday I attend my g/f's bridal shower, which was after my last night shift. Very nice. Garden tea party. So nice to meet everyone near and dear to her. I think she liked our gifts very much.
  • Just finished reading Twighlight, an impulse buy last week at the superstore. Tomorrow, I have to buy the set. Spent ALL day reading it. Can't believe how much I enjoyed a teen book.
  • Have mounted some of my stamps and played a little. Need to get a few cards made before I go back to work. I always feel so much more relaxed after I spend time in my studio.
  • A landscaper came and trimmed the oak tree and cleaned up the "canopy" over my driveway from the neighbours trees. Looks so much better.
  • thinking of different places to go on a mini holiday with my darling daughter this summer. any thoughts?
  • BIG thank you to my g/f rocketgirl for the great necklace she treated me to last week. I so love it!
  • thinking about loss a lot. crying a lot. Big losses last year. I became divorced, I had to put my loving faithful dog Gunnar down and then, I lost my Pappa. WHEN does it get easier????
  • thoroughly enjoying my wireless interenet and laptop. though I don't think it's so good for carpal tunnel syndrome.
  • work has been busy. very sick patients. often short staffed. have picked up four shifts over the summer holidays, in my old job. need my ER fix.

come to mama!
