Vegas and more!

  • I HEART VEGAS!
  • Went to Vegas with my g/f "J", who I worked with for over 15 years in my old job in the ER/rural hospital. Our traveling days SUCKED. Going down we were delayed by seven hours as we waited for a tire to come in from Texas which took away the whole afternoon and evening of Vegas, bringing us to our stinky old ugly hotel room at Caesars at midnight. Quick to the phone to complain and told to get out for an hour so they could ionize it. Went and had drinks at Margaritaville, which used to be a happening place, but not so much on a Tuesday night? Got back to the room and the ionizer aka perfume had taken away the old smoke smell and we collapsed to sleep.
  • Up early to face the day, my friend on the phone to upgrade rooms and off to the pool we went where I preceded to start my day off with a 32 oz Mai Tai. DELISH! No I don't think that was all booze, but it was tastey regardless. Spent a few hours enjoying the sun by the pool and then went and ate at The Cheesecake Factory. DELISH! I had my Luau salad, as always and Godiva chocolate cheesecake that we shared. Did some shopping and gambling and then got ready for Michael Jackson "The One" Cirque de Soleil. Fabulous! More dancing to MJ music than true Cirque but it was a wonderful show to see. My girlfriend LOVED it. Gambled our way home...and did room service. Yum.
  • Up much later, missed early pool time, decided to walk to Fashion Show Mall to, what else, shop. Both my g/.f and I got great deals on purses we loves and I also got my Pandora bracelet replaced and a new Murano glass for my purple bracelet. Then we made it to the Wynn, which always feels like coming home to me and we enjoyed more gambling and excellent waitress service. Taxi home to Caesars to get ready for dinner at Rao's. OMG. DELISH!!! 5* all the way! Then we got our way to Bellagio to gamble some before we went and saw, surprise..."O" Cirque de Soleil, my FAVORITE Cirque de Soleil show ever! Mystere is a close second. I love all the water activity and true acrobatic work. So amazing. Second time seeing it and I am in awe. So lucky. Came home and partly packed up our bags, well one of us did and went to bed and one of us went gambling again....lol.
  • Going home day we went to the Wynn for lunch buffet. I have had all three there now and lunch was average. Breakfast is fantastic and dinner is beyond fantastic. The food TASTES good, not factory produced slop like at some of the buffets. We filled up and then gambled some more...and of course time was ticking for us to catch a cab to get to the airport and I just KNEW I was going to win THIS time!!! The machine was teasing me alright. Damn slots! Didn't go over my daily limit though, so it's all good. Travelling home went fine until we had to land in Seattle due to fog in Bellingham; bussed from SeaTac to Bellingham and then drove the rest of the way home in fog. Five hour delay. So not impressed by the travelling day fiascos. I have travelled 10 times now with this particular company and this is the first time I have had problems with them. So not sure what to do next time I go to Vegas.
  • We had lots of laughs, lots of people watching, lots of drinks and gambling, a fair amount of shopping and all the meals were so fantastic. I will travel with you anytime "J"!!!! You are an awesome friend and such good company!
  • My back. Still attached to two legs and two arms. I may have medicated myself too well while I was away because of the walking and the warmth and the pavements...I pushed myself and came home in more pair than ever. RMT guy is NOT happy, says I have gone backwards with my healing. Lots of joints that aren't working smoothly and hurt like hell when he hits those trigger points. So I have no choice but to keep plugging along with treatments and such. Just another incentive to lose weight.
  • Monday night went with my daughter and dear friends D&D to see P!NK.  What a FANTASTIC show she puts on, amazing vocals and ribbons work, wire work, crowd surfing, all while singing. Played for over two hours. So glad I got to take my daughter as 11 years ago when she was first becoming popular my ex wanted to take her and I said she was too young and that's been an issue over the years....ha ha!
  • George and Poppy did not seem to miss me AT ALL while I was gone off to Vegas. I guess my daughter did too good of a job taking care of them! She even clipped their front nails. Last two mornings George has been coming in to my room to cuddle with me under the covers for a couple of hours and that makes me so happy. Now if we could just get Poppy to do it....but not, she just wants to climb up the drapes, clothes, anything to claw in to!  George is def a chubby kitty and Poppy, well, she isn't growing. She does get her fair share of the food, I have been keeping close tabs on it. Separate dishes didn't work; they want to eat and drink at the same time, same dish! She is just a petite eater. But she holds her own when she tackles her brother. Pretty good at sneak throw downs!

some more cheese with this WHINE???

  • Sorry about the whine. My back is in such bad shape. I have been going regularly to RMT and a Chiropractor with no improvement! They keep finding more problems and it is actually painful to have the treatments and recover from them the day of and day after. BUT, I believe it is the right thing to be doing. They've both told me I shouldn't be working and I have to agree, I know it's not doing me any favours but I can not afford to go on to Medical EI. Max payment from them is $500 per week! OUCH! The Sports Clinic I go to also does physio but RMT and chiropractor both suggest I am too weak to be doing physio treatments. *sigh* Thankfully I work with great supportive nurses and I've been avoiding heavy lifting and bending over and reaching for things. It's just going to take longer to heal is all. So uncomfortable at night. Ok, here is an improvement; I can lay on my side and sleep for 1-2 hours at a time as before tx I was sleeping sitting upright. I've been dealing with nausea now for a few days as I think my stomach is a little tired of all the medications I have been taking to combat the pain. This getting old business stinks!
  • I had a little run in with my garage door and that ended up costing me $400! OUCH! Pays to have regular maintenance work done so I will try to be more vigilant about that sort of thing. Naturally that came out of the Vegas funds.
  • Vegas in less than two weeks! I AM SO EXCITED!!! Am very nervous about going with my back problems, but a few Mai Tai's should solve that problem!
  • George is getting to be quite a bit boy. Dear daughter calls him fat but I'd say he's more chubby. He sure does LOVE his food. He's always begging for human food, which I treat him the odd thing. Poppy on the other hand is petite and likess her portion of the wet food and nibbles on the dry. She is wanting to be held all the time now a days but is so squirmy, changing positions a billion times. George likes to lay beside me or partially on my knee for his pets. Still keeping them out of the bedroom as Poppy love to climb, which entails her clawing her way up, for example, the drapes and the clothes in my closet. Not cool! Still love them to bits and pieces; maybe didn't understand just HOW much work they would be. But it was a great decision and I am happy with it!
  • Dear daughter's boyfriend moved out on his own, closer to us than where he was living with his parents. Basically means I rarely see my daughter anymore! :(  Tomorrow morning we're spending the morning together so I hope we'll have a good catch up. I am so proud of her for returning back to school and get this, she has three jobs right now! Determination.
  • That's all I have to say for now. I try hard to get through my shifts and then on my days off, I am doing therapy and getting as much rest as possible. Not a very interesting life.
