  • One more night after tonight and then I'm on vacation! Yes I'm doing the countdown...
  • George and Poppy have entered a destructive phase. Mostly to do with cardboard and paper products, like letters, magazines and toliet paper! Why do they have to look so adorable doing it?
  • Got a notice in the mail from the vet about the kittens needing a booster shot, which I thought was weird because when I saw him last he said see you in a year, so I will have to call them back and see what's what. Would be a good opportunity to get their nails trimmed and have them weighed. I KNOW Poppy is growing and gaining but she is so much smaller than George. George definetely eats more than she, but she does eat. I've tried separate dishes but they both want to eat at the same one. Weird kittens.
  • REALLY looking forward to being on "vacation mode". No alarms. I am sure that my sleep will improve. Looking forward to catching up with friends that I haven't seen in a long time. Even looking forward to doing some serious "spring cleaning" if there is cooler weather. And spending time in the studio; time down there seems to elude me. I was downstairs for a few minutes tonight to get something and just looking around got me all excited and inspired about doing some layouts for Vegas albums and making some cards.

Hope you enjoy the pictures of the kittens. It's very difficult to capture them while awake and on the run, which is MOST of the time, LOL!

The heat is getting to me big time. The kittens don't seem to like it either. Not like Raja, who loves to lay in the sun and flick his tail. Good thing they are drinking lots of fresh water. I would like there to be some nice weather while I'm on vacation. I have things to do about the house but I'd like to get out and do some fun things in the lower mainland. Like a winery tour! My mom wants to go to the lake for her birthday mid August and since my birthday follows a few days later, guess it will be a combined family gathering. Granville Island maybe? Stanley park? Have lots of friends to catch up with too. And always love to spend time in the studio. Only four more shifts to work! Then a glorious month off!

Booked Vegas for October and I'm really excited about that. I think my girlfriend is looking forward to it too. What happens in Vegas ends up facebook! lol!

kittens, busy kittens!

Oh vei are the kittens naughty, especially Miss Princess Poppy! lol! Tonight before work she jumped up on top of my bedside glass art decco lamp and crushed the shade and poked a few holes in the drapes (that were draped on top of the lamp so she wouldn't crawl up them from the floor). George was startled and hid under the bed. Then after that, I found her perched on the banister, where I had laid out all my work clothes for the next few days. This, after I found said work clothes on the floor and had to rehang them. Teach me not to do this again. How I wish my closet door closed now! She likes to climb up on the first rung and scooch along the hangers... oh she's a handful this Pretty Poppy. I spray her with water and she looks at me with a "like I care" attitude. George hits the road and knows better. They are both "digging" into the fabrics on the furniture and bed linen, and my clothing. I think their nails need to be trimmed but I am afraid to do it, afraid to do it alone, afraid of their reaction.

Then she turns around and winds herself around my legs and jumps on my lap for a cuddle, always when I'm on the toliet (sorry if TMI). And purrs and cuddles and acts all innocent. George gets a bit jealous at times and comes in then for his cuddles, but always on his terms. Equal cuddle time for them both and often I end up with my arms full of them both, which is proving more and more difficult with George getting so long and lanky. Poppy is still petite but I can see that she's growing too.

George LOVES his food and I try to make sure Poppy gets her fair share; hopefully she enjoys the dry food too because he monopolizes the wet. I've tried separate dishes but he jumps from one dish to the next with her following, so we're no further ahead than when we started. DD and I had pizza last night for dinner and George was begging, up on the chair at the table. The water bottle came out and he retreated but still hovered. When I sit in bed with my ice cream, the two of them climb on top of each other, trying to get closest to the bowl, it's annoying and funny/cute at the same time. They, just like Raja did, love themselves some melted ice cream. Vanilla of course.

  • Hi There. I have pictures to share but I can't seem to get them to upload from my iPhone to Picasa. :(
  • I'm on my last week of "five in a rows". One more night to do and then I have four days off. I plan to SLEEP! Today I was only able to sleep from 1-3pm. I feel like a zombie! Work has been pretty busy plus we have an undercurrent of events happening involving the union. Fight for your rights!
  • My dear girlfriend "D" had her baby a few days ago; a beautiful handsome BIG boy! I've been able to hold him twice and he's just adorable. Smells so good. :-)
  • Kittens are getting in to everything. Every day I come home I find they have created some sort of mischief. Getting up on the kitchen counters is one of the things they do; I can't leave anything on the counters. George is always trying to get food from me, so I have to close my bedroom door when I eat (in bed, of course)  otherwise I have him climbing all over me trying to eat my food. Both of the kittens are nuts about milk products! Poppy is still biting and I'm putting toys in front of her when she nips at me and then I ignore her. I've done some reading and those were the most common tips. I have to get more chew toys though. She must be teething because she likes to chew on the cardboard scratcher and magazines and my mail! They are both getting bigger every week, still eating canned food supplementing with dry food. And treats. They know what the shake of that bag means. Love them lots, good company and lots of entertainment. I just wish they didn't want to hang off my bedroom drapes!
  • 9 more work shifts and then I'm on a month's vacation! SO excited. I have so many cards I want to make and scrapbooking layouts to do that I've thought about ideas for. I can't wait to get in to my studio. Also looking forward to catching up with some friends that I haven't seen in a long time, as well as visiting with my mom.
  • Vegas is a go for October and THAT is something I'm very excited about. I can't wait to show my girlfriend what Vegas is really about! I think we're going to have an absolute blast. And then a few days after I get home, I'm going to P!NK with my daughter and friends D&D. Yippee!

Update

Hmmmm where have I been?

At work! I'm in the lousy stretch of four on's, four off's plus in the middle of a three week stretch of five on's, three off's. Not making me a happy camper. With only three days off and 2 of them basically sleep days, leaves me with little time to get anything done around the house. *sigh*

The kittens are growing! George has started to chew on my Croc shoes and Poppy is a bit of a nipper. I swear they are teething. No more accidents in the house thankfully! The other problem I have is them jumping up on the kitchen counters and tables. The other day my daughter found them asleep on the breakfast table in a display dish! It makes me laugh now but at the time it makes me nuts. I wish I had a picture of it because it would have been cute and then she could have sprayed them with water. George is getting good at recognizing that he needs to get down as soon as I bring out the spritzer but Poppy isn't catching on as fast. Or she doesn't care. lol. Love them to bits; they are such good entertainment and company. Don't have any new pictures to share as it's hard to capture them still.

The past few days the heat has been turned on; yesterday my home was 32 degrees C inside when I got home from work! The sun is beautiful for people who love being outdoors but it's too hot for me. The only time I like it is when I'm at a Vegas hotel and sitting by a pool sipping on a slushy drink...I so wish I had central a/c!

Speaking of Vegas....I've got a friend who's going to go with me probably in October. I'm excited to plan, so now I have to start saving! It's been over a year since I've been and I'm having withdrawls!

Less than a month away and I'll be on my month long vacation. Looking forward to that. No alarms! I hope to pick up 1 or 2 OT shifts but that's about it for work for me. I want to spend time in my studio making cards and scrapbooking, visiting my mom, doing daytrips, visiting friends and if it's cool enough, cleaning the house up a bit. Oh and having lots of lovely long naps!
