I didn't get much done all week-end, but I did manage to do this two page layout about Mother's day this year. Slowly working on my surprise project and I need to get Christmas cards made!

A cleaner living room. Will hang the lights and the balls on the tree next week.

One of the new linens I got for the scrapbooking room. Reminded me of scrapbooking paper! And I've finally grown up! I invested in a queen sized down comfortable and it is heaven.

• got my first Christmas card in the mail the other day! Panic sets in as I haven't finished mine, nor done up the annual Christmas letter!
• I have listened to Suze Orman's audio book on women and finances. So much makes sense to me and I so need to make some serious changes. I listened to it in the truck but now have to bring it inside so I can write down stuff as she is speaking; she has a monthly plan to get yourself started. I do know, REALLY know, I need to cut back. I'm a generous person by nature and it makes me happy to treat my family and friends. But I need to start taking better care of me and my finances. Less is more, right?
• I have picked out my "word of the year" for next year.
• Work is going well. It is busy at time, but there is also time to sit down and talk with patients. Time to connect. Ask about their lives, their last goals and wishes. Working with a lot of great people. Such a good move for me.
• Went and stayed with my g/f last week and had such an enjoyable time. Loved being around her two girls; it seems like forever ago my daughter was that age and now she will soon be 18! We went out and I managed to get quite a bit of Christmas shopping done and the customs people were happy to haul me inside afterwards!
• my father seems to be doing ok. Still frail, weak but feels better with the oxygen. Had his CT scan this week so hopefully the results will be available next week.
• not sleeping any better with the new bed. it's the house. full of ghosts and unhappy memories.
• the contractor is going to help me get the rest of the house fixed up so I can put it back up on the market early next year. Felt so much better after talking to him.
• had a lovely pedicure yesterday afternoon. Such a nice way to start off my days off!

I am away from my computer. Actually, it is away from me, in the sick computer hospital. Talk about withdrawls!

• Well, one thing for sure, my life certainly isn't boring, peaceful, stressfree or without drama.
• I HATE lying, dishonest, secrets, deception. HATE it. And when it's someone close to you that does this, it's such a betrayal.
• My dad has been quite ill; home now after three day staff in Hospital. Now wearing oxygen all the time.It's his first "crisis" and I worry there will be more. Is having a repeat CT scan asap. Tought balancing act, being the nurse and being the daughter. A lot rests on my shoulders.
• miss Gunnar so much, so does Raja! He is always cuddling up with me on the bed now.

The Three Question Personality Test

7 months ago my daughter and I laid on the floor, holding our beloved Gunnar while he was put "to sleep" while laying on his bed. Making that decision, all alone, was one of the hardest ones I've ever had to make. And even now, knowing I did the right thing because he was in so much pain, I still wish, I could have had one more day with him. I miss him so much. I still find dog hair wafting in different parts of the house. I just got a new bed and when I first looked at it in the bedroom, I thought "Gunnar won't be able to get up on it". When it's stormy and windy or when I hear firecrackers, I think about him, because he would be so scared. When we have family dinners and my parents tidy up, they often put aside some of the meats, etc for him and then realize he is gone. This will be the first Christmas without him. He always got a new bone from Old Navy. He loved to lay by the Christmas tree and sniff at the presents. He loved to get his treats. When the snow finally starts to fall, there will be no Gunnar to run through it, like a puppy.

Gunnar, I hope where-ever you are, you have lots of treats, a comfy bed, trails and snow to run through and no pain, no sadness, no more seizures & depression.

You were the best dog, the best boy "S" and I could ever have had.

The very much needed, much anticipated, NEW queen size bed. Mine and mine alone. Arrived a few days ago. Just now able to get it set up. My bestfriend took the other bed and furniture yesterday so it's gone for good. Otherwise I might have hauled it outside and had a huge bonfire. Just got an inexpensive "bed in bag" for now and don't plan to buy furniture until I move, as who knows what small bedrooms I might end up with. Raja is already making himself comfortable.

Today's happiness: Lemon Cranberry scone from Starbucks. They are oh so friendly at the drive thru one I go to and it makes me happy!

• my new bed has arrived. now awaiting all the linens, etcs. sure looks smaller than the king
• working my first shift on THPCU last night. Quiet. glad to be there, finally, after 8 weeks.
• contractor came over and discussed how to make the front room better. I don't trust many people but I trust him and know he'll take good care of me. I so need to get out of this house and find my own home, to create a new beginning for me. I feel relieved after talking with him.
• my mom seems to be recovering from her knee surgery alright
• wanting very much want to see The Changeling with Angelina Jolie.
• am oh so looking forward to Christmas time on our unit. Lots of great staff and I'm doning a lot of suppliers

• my beautiful daughter is coming home for the weekend and I can't wait to see her!
• I miss Gunnar so much; I've been listening to Christmas songs while I drive to work and whenever they sing about snow, it makes me remember about that time when Icamehome and he was SO excited to go out in the snow...and I was so tired. So out we went and he bounced through the snow. It was such a beautiful morning and Gunnar was so happy and the snow was light and fluffy and fresh. OMG, I loved that dog so much.
